Christian Dior Perfume ~ Poison Girl Perfume Review :
The Fashion House of Christian Dior launched Poison Girl in January 2016. It is the latest addition to the Poison Line. It is available in an Eau de Parfum (EDP) concentration and belongs to the Floral- Oriental category of Fragrances. The perfume has been designed for the young rebellious women with emphasis on the appeal to the modern tastes.
Poison Girl Chrstian Dior Perfume Scent Descriptions:
Top Notes: Bitter Orange
Heart Notes: Damask Rose and May Rose
Base Notes: Tonka Bean, Sandalwood, Tolu Balsam , Almond , Vanilla
My Experience with Christian Dior Poison Girl Perfume :
The first spray opens with a tangy burst of the bitter orange. I can smell more of the bitterness and less of the orange. It is like I am hit with a flash of a mild citrusy zesty touch. The bitter orange note doesn’t stay for sufficient time and is taken over by the duskiness of the Damask rose note. It is just the subtle duskiness along with a sugary aroma. The May rose imparts a slight softness to the Damask Rose.
What disappoints me most about this Poison Girl Chrsitian Dior perfume is that there is not even a slight Rosy touch. At this point, what I smell is a bitter sweet orange candy like fragrance. After this, the base notes take over and they are extremely playful in nature. The Sri Lankan Sandalwood is really soft. The bitter sweet Tonka Beans, Tolu Balsam, Almond and Vanilla is what I get from Poison Girl till the end. The almond provides a rich creaminess and covers up for the sweetness. Vanilla gives a comforting warmth with Tolu Balsam adding woody touch. The final harmony of the notes is struck pretty early as the effect created by the base notes is what lasts till the time the perfume fades away.
This particular perfume by Dior lacks being playful with the accords. The projection of the perfume is good. It stays put for at least 6 hours. The Poison Girl is more of a Fall/Winter Fragrance. Wearing it in summers or on a sunny day would be a blunder!
Designed especially for the young section, this perfume would be well suited for young women below 25 years age group. Being a Party/ Club fragrance, it is best suited to be worn at night events. I really like the bottle design. The black cap with the Pinkish perfume is a treat for my eyes. It also makes me feel curious so as to what surprise the bottle houses. It is the first time Christian Dior gave it’s perfume a transparent bottle.
Let us have a quick look at the likes and dislikes that I’ve felt about Poison Girl Perfume below:
- It tries to deliver an attractive mesmerizing aura by being playful and flirty.
- It is Powerful.
- Nothing different about the perfume.
- It is way too sweet.
- Nothing like poison, neither dark nor magnetic.
Overall : The Posion Girl Eau de Parfum is nothing like the 80’s Poison, not even close. A sheer disappointment, there is nothing new or extraordinary about The Poison Girl Eau de Parfum. So, for me, it’s a Pass!
