Chanel Chance, created by Jacques Polge, launched in 2002 and Chance’s latest flanker, Chance Eau Vive was a new chanel perfume that came in the market in 2015. Eau Vive has been created by Chanel’s new house perfumer (and Jacques Polge’s son), Olivier Polge.
Chance is the sort of fragrance that could entrance a young woman looking for something “sexy” before she has the confidence to understand that sexy isn’t something you put on. Eau Vive is a sheer fresh grapefruit and is my favorite of the Chance De Chanel trio of chanel pefumes.
Notes include Grapefruit, red orange, jasmine and white musk at the top and in the heart respectively. Base notes include vetiver, cedar and iris.
My experience with New Chanel Perfume ~ Chance Eau Vive:
Eau Vive is tart and citrusy with grapefruit and orange, but it’s not as bracing as cologne. It holds a touch of its fruit’s sweetness, but it’s tempered by pepper. As Eau Vive fades — and it fades fast — it settles into a clean musky vetiver with none of Chance’s cloying sweetness.
The scent is discrete yet classy, fresh and adorable. I have an experience with Eau Tendre as well and I must say that both are extremely good. The base having no patchouli or vanilla has a vintage feel of musk and powdery florals which makes the odor modern and classic simultaneously.
After about 4 hours of application, the scent left a fresh, gentle, elegant and subtle trail which I absolutely loved! I do feel it lacks great longevity as I like scents which stay with me all day long, especially when this is a summer perfume it should have a longer staying power. I do have to test it more to see whether longevity improves with time or is it just the case with Chanel now. The notes are light so you can put a lot on without exaggerating and enjoy the freshness.
Packaging: A magnificent circular transparent bottle which will leave you spellbound. No print except the brand name in bold keeps it simple yet elegant on the both the outer box which is pale pink in color as well as the glass bottle (same shape as that of earlier versions) . Clean liquid aptly depicts the radiance of a vibrant lady. This is a lively fragrance, the packaging of which is beaming with energy.
Experience with notes: This floral scent creates a playful expression with the exhilarating notes of grapefruit, jasmine, cedar and iris. Everything falls beautifully into place, followed by a warmer polished jasmine infused musk, and the iris and soft woods, all lending a classy feel of Chanel fragrances.
Season: A very positive, feminine scent for all year round every day wear but try to apply it during summers and spring in the day time for best results.
Longevity: Stayed on me for 4-5 hours which is decent but not great. Silage is 4 on 10.
Below is a quick summary of likes and dislikes I’ve felt about this fragrance:
– Easy to carry
– Refreshing and uplifting odor
– Decent longevity
– Affordable price
– Fades away easily
– Weak silage
