My Experience with Prada Candy Perfume:
I am not a big fan of gourmand fragrances and the name “Candy” was more than enough to not even think about trying this. However, after listening to lots of people raving about it, I thought, may be a small whiff wouldn’t do any harm. Thought of trying this Prada perfume out from a sample for a whole day and here goes my experience.
Prada Candy perfume exudes bright and bold femininity on every level, starting from its packaging in shocking pink and gold, to the fragrance right from its initial spritz till its end notes. I usually love my perfume bottles to look simple and sophisticated, however the playful packaging of Prada Candy is hard to ignore. It pulls your vision towards itself and you simply can not ignore it at all, whether you like it or not.
The fragrance surprisingly was something I quite liked, despite the fact that it reminds me of sweet candies from my childhood. The caramel sweetness is somehow softened with the presence of vanilla, which stays right from the beginning till the end. After the dry down, I could smell the musk taking over, while the sweet notes of caramel and vanilla stay in the background. Despite its over the top packaging and blaring message of being a “Candy” perfume, it isn’t too headache-inducing sweet or strong. I loved the way it lingered on my skin and made me smell yummy in a nice inoffensive way.
Sillage and Longevity: The sillage is good (about half meter length!), however I can’t say the same about its staying power. It stayed put on my skin for around 3-4 hours, after which I felt the need to re-apply it.
Season and Time: It is a gorgeous summer-day time fragrance, which I’d prefer wearing in spring as well.
Below is a quick summary of likes and dislikes I’ve felt about this perfume:
1) Gorgeous and chic packaging.
2) The fragrance is sweet-musky, lovely, feminine and overall amazing!
3) Good sillage
4) Perfect for summer-spring wear.
1) Average staying power.
Overall: If you don’t like sweet caramel fragrances, but do want to give it a try then this fragrance is something you should start with. It is beautifully balanced sweet-musky fragrance which isn’t outrageous at all. Definitely worth having it in your collection.
