Bleu De Chanel Perfume For Men (2014) Review:
Bleu De Chanel Eau De Parfum by the house of Chanel was launched in the year 2014, targeting at men who are looking for classy, stylish and darker side of a scent. The fragrance was a result of creative efforts by the successful Jacques Polge, who has been an applauded perfumer amidst men and women. The main accords of the scent are citrus, balsamic and woody notes.
Bleu De Chanel Perfume Scent Descriptions and Notes:
The scent has the following set of notes:
Top Notes: Grapefruit, bergamot, lemon, vetiver and pink pepper
Middle Notes: Cedarwood, Jasmine, Nutmeg, Ginger and labdanum
Base Notes: Caledonian Sandalwood, amber, incense
My Experience with this fragrance:
Bleu De by Chanel EDP is the new version of the original Bleu De Chanel Eau De Toilette. While the Bleu De EDP is on the same lines as that of the original, but still it is very distinct in nature.
This new version of EDP is somehow stronger and more intense as compared to EDT. Men who are bored with the same old after shave kind-of fragrances, and are in a quest for something richer and darker, let me tell you, you’re in for a treat. This is a beautiful scent which reinforces freedom of body expression and boundary less experiences. The fragrance is well composed with woody notes and I personally admire the sensuality it arouses. I love it whenever my boyfriend wears it for one of our dates.
Chanel does like to keep it simple and stylish, and they manage to do so with this one as well. One may not find much creativity when it comes to men’s fragrances with respect to the packaging and design of the bottle. So, this one from Chanel also sticks with the rule of simplicity. They unlock the lock of effective design with the key of sobriety.
Bleu De Chanel’s bottle has a sleek and stylish body. The product comes in a dark blue-black bottle which says BLEU DE CHANEL in bold. Being simple and sober doesn’t imply that it has no charm. It is definitely a very handy bottle which is sleek, classy, upscale and hot looking.
Two-three sprays and you’re good to go for the next four to five hours. Great longevity but sillage is a tad disappointing: an area of improvement for this scent.
There is no best season which can be recommended for this particular scent, since I find it extremely versatile. A guy who’s wearing it to office or a guy who is going out clubbing; both will have a great time wearing this cologne and would be collecting compliments for the same. The scent is hence, quite versatile in approach and can be worn at any time of the day in almost any season. But, if I must pick any favorites, I’d recommend it for the night time.
Experience With Notes
Bergamot, lemon and strong presence of grapefruit in the beginning gives it a refreshing citrusy start to begin with. The heart has so many different combos to overwhelm you with. From the woody-floral notes of jasmine and cedar to the strong nutmeg-ginger combo, there’s a lot to cherish. Sandalwood, amber and incense mix up to create the magical base of a handsome aroma to leave you longing for more.
The notes perfectly complement its image of being strong, deep and classy.
Below are few of the likes and dislikes that I’ve felt about this fragrance:
– More intense than EDT
– Positive longevity
– Love it on men: Very classy
– Exorbitantly priced
– Weak projection
