Chanel Cristalle Eau Verte Perfume For Women Review (2009 fragrance):
The Chanel Cristalle Eau Verte is the modern interpretation of the timeless classic, Cristalle EDT launched in 1974. After the legendary EDP reiteration in 1993, this is third in the line of the Cristalle family and the Verte could ideally be called another variation rather than a true successor of the original. The original Cristalle was well renowned for its perfect balance of ingredients, its unique character and its lingering mix of natural scents encompassing from citrus and flowers which gave out a nice fresh yet subtle scent to add to its green citrus chypre architecture.
Eau Verte is fresh, green and surprising, and has an uplifting effect which makes it an ideal companion for warm spring and summer days. Light and refreshing, it opens with crisp lemon and bergamot notes and gives out a feeling akin to drinking chilled lemonade while basking under an umbrella, strolling through fruit orchards on a glorious sunny day.
The clean jasmine scent is never overwhelming and the dry down is vaguely floral with a faint magnolia serving as the perfect nurse to leave you mesmerized to the cool and soothing medley of joyous summer accords.

My Experience With This Perfume:
This is one of those perfumes which doesn’t cease to surprise me; its love at first whiff with its gorgeous sharp and almost biting lemon notes. Although slightly different to other Chanel perfumes, the Chanel-esque quality is very much present with its rich and floral freshness married with citrus nuances. Its oozes Chanel class and is not overtly feminine and has a little spicy undertones but yet, light and pretty as anything which can be enjoyed by both sexes.
If you already had the original Chanel Cristalle Eau De Parfum, you are sure to catch traces of the original floral notes and will be able to tell this one is a tad more mature and a bit quieter. That’s where all the comparison ends; the Eau Verte radiates energy, is much sweeter and softer and its clean and ultra chic for the modern yet classic, elegant woman.
Packaging and longevity: The tall cuboidal bottle is made of crystal clear glass with its pretty light green in full display. The white plastic cap does look a bit off on a Chanel perfume but it still does look neat and complements the bottle well. Sillage and longevity is quite decent and compared to modern Chanel’s, this one does seem to last quite a while albeit more on fabrics than on skin.
Let me quickly summarize the likes and dislikes for this Chanel Cristalle perfume:
- Value for money , being a Chanel product
- Although a reincarnation, this is a totally refreshed Cristalle product.
- Great packaging which will adore your vanity area
- Unisex tones can lead to confusion
- Very different from the original reiteration.
Just like a ballerina, the Eau Verte is elegant, graceful and exudes sophistication all the way. An excellent choice for those hot summer days, this perfume is sure to attract admirable glances and could easily become your signature scent for any occasion.
